Computers and workstations located in the Spokane Falls Community College Library provide access to library catalogs, databases, and other information resources and programs to assist with studies, research or job-related tasks.

Priority is given to:

  • Current SFCC and SCC students
  • College class-related work
  • Use of library catalogs, indexes, and research-related information sources

  • Capturing search results to USB drive (flash drive), CD or print documents using library printers.

Restricted Activities

  • Use of personal e-mail (except at designated email stations).
  • Use of programs or applications not explicitly listed on library menus.
  • Recreational or non-class-related use whenever any student needs access for academic work.

Prohibited Activities

  • Library users who violate College Policy are subject to disciplinary action as described in that policy.

Guest Policy

  • As a taxpayer-supported institution, the SFCC Library welcomes visitors and guest users from Spokane and the surrounding communities. Residents of the State of Washington may obtain guest patron cards and check out circulating items. (limits may apply)
  • Library computers and printing are subsidized by student computer-use fees. Accordingly, currently registered and enrolled students have priority on library computers at all times.
  • Visitors and guest users may ask at the reference desk to be logged into a guest account for up to one hour per day when computers are not needed for student use. Visitors and guests may petition for short term exceptions to the one hour per day limit by contacting the Library’s department chair/ head of reference or Dean of Instruction for Library and Distance Learning, in that order. Accommodation will be determined on a case-by-case basis that may require demonstrable academic need. (e.g. access to databases unavailable elsewhere; temporary home computer malfunctions, etc.)
Policy in effect since June 7, 2000
